At
the Federal level, distance education, especially using easily accessible (and
searched) Internet resources, is given an increasing role in education. This
article reviews the functionality of search engines on the Federal educational
portals of Russia and traces the history of the changes in their functionality.
The shortcomings and disadvantages of search are highlighted, and some
solutions to these problems are suggested.

The development of
any linguistic corpus fulfills the need to improve
educational programs, textbooks, manuals and teaching materials used in
language teaching in the era of information technology. Due to the lack of
textbooks and manuals for teaching Buryat, the availability of the Buryat
Corpus online will speed the development of and enrich the teaching process
thanks to availability of an online view of contemporary usage of Buryat.
Various didactic books can be prepared using data from the Corpus.

Old Church Slavonic Concordances in Language Teaching and Learning |

The present study
examines how concordances can be applied in the teaching and learning of Old
Church Slavonic. The essay gives a description of selected Old Church Slavonic
resources, presents free concordance programs and demonstrates the teaching
method used, including examples of concordance use in the classroom. Finally,
recommendations are made that are necessary for the successful implementation
of the corpus-aided teaching of ancient languages.

The report presents
the project to create the “Research Environment for Historical and
Lexicographical Studies Based on the the Dictionary of Russian Language of the
11th to 17th Centuries. The environment consists of two
components: the HiLex system for supporting historical and lexicographical
research and an PDF edition of the Dictionary
that includes effective search tools for local and remote access.

This paper presents a
“pilot” issue of the serial digital edition of a concordance of issues 1–21 of
the Dictionary of the Russian Language of the 11th–17th
Centuries. The concordance is based on quotations from the printed issues of
the dictionary. There are 2,817 processed entries containing 10,837 word forms.
The concordance is designed to support the authors of new issues of the
dictionary (the still incomplete letters of the alphabet) and also for
researchers in the field of Russian historical lexicography and lexicology.
