Despite the many extant documents, Bulgarian written literature from before the Renaissance is still not thoroughly studied. Paulician literature from the end of the 18th century is a valuable source for Bulgarian historical grammar and dialectology. Such literature strives for intelligibility and accessibility, but studies from this period so far mainly use Damaskian literature. The purpose of my study is to shine light on Paulician literature and to prove that it is an example of a literary language with a vernacular base. icon abadzhieva_elmanuscript2014 (741.11 kB)
