This
paper describes a database for a set of Persian manuscripts in the collection
of Kazan (Volga) Federal University. This collection includes 736 storage units
briefly described in inventory books, covering a vast period—from the 14th
to the end of the 19th century. Geographically, they represent the
Volga region, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and other regions.
There are manuscripts with colored miniatures, drawings, skillfully crafted by
colorful unvans, charts and tables. Thematically they are very diverse. This
collection will be described in a database according to different parameters.
As a result a digital catalog will be created with all the necessary user
tools.
