Today the Manuscript system is limited by its
ability to present only texts in Cyrilic. We are planning to include Glagolitic
texts in Manuscript, requiring the addition of Glagolitic characters in the
character-font encoding scheme (CFES) of Manuscript. The list of characters in
Unicode 5.0 and the work of Austrian colleagues formed the basis for the
creation of the Glagolitic font. The Assemaniy Gospel writer’s handwriting
was used as the basis for the creation of the glyphs. For the future we are
planning the perfection of the Glagolitic character range through including
material from other manuscripts and coordinating with the work of foreign
colleagues.
